Date: April 3, 2011
Venue: First Presbyterian Church - Portland, Oregon
This weekend I had the sincere pleasure of hearing, watching (and photographing) my friend Elizabeth Bacon and an incredibly talented cast of musicians and singers perform April Foolish. What a treat to the senses! I borrowed my friend Marlin's fixed 50mm f/1.4 lens and sat in the front row of the darkened church to capture as much as I could, sans flash. The music was performed masterfully and the cast continuously engaged the audience, frequently sending us into fits of laughter (which made it rather difficult to hold the camera steady).
Congratulations Liz on an incredible performance! You truly are a Portland gem! (Elizabeth Bacon is a founding member of the four-member women's group, The Julians)
Let's hear it for the Bacon's!!
One of the afternoon's many highlights was Liz's collaboration with her daughters, Kiah and Cassidy Bacon. The girls watched their mother wow the crowd during the first half of the show and then joined her onstage after the intermission for a charming song / tap-dance number.
