Day at the Farm

Our friends Chena and Brad suggested we sign up for CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and split a 30-week harvest grown at a local farm in Helvetia, Oregon. Every other week, the Riddle's will go out to the farm to collect our portion of the bounty. We had our first visit to the La Finquita Farm at their annual Kick-Off potluck.  The farm was charming and Quintin absolutely loved interacting with all of the animals - especially the 3-day old baby goats. He had so much fun he threw a small hissy-fit when it was time to leave (which I captured as well ;) This week's selection of produce included sprouting broccoli, kale, spinach, beet greens, spring salad mix, leeks, shallots and walnuts; all grown on the farm's 2 acres of land.  It was a labor of love to thoroughly clean all of the produce; the farm uses organic farming practices so there were lots of little critters in the greens. But it was SO worth it! Thanks for the great idea Chena and Brad. We are all already looking forward to our next visit!

Ahhh, beautiful Portland

I recently had a client looking to buy a few iconic Portland images for use on his website, so I found myself digging through photos from recent years. I forgot how many colorful Portland night shots and moody day shots I have in my collection. I thought I would share a few. Enjoy!

Welcome Baby Gryphon!!

It wasn't very long ago when we threw my friend Chena her baby shower (see previous post), but just this week I finally got to meet my 'nephew' Gryphon! I am smitten! I can't wait to spend more time with this newest addition to my extended family before he and his parents return to DC. Love you lil buddy!

Sophie's day of fun

Ahhh, the Oregon coast. The smell of salt in the air, cool breezes and sand, sand, sand. There is no spot that is nearer and dearer to Sophie's heart, so for her 1-year birthday (and my husband's 36th) we ventured out west for 2 days of peace and quiet, and many games of fetch on the beach.
